Detroit and Its Beauty

Sometimes I wonder why so many people are afraid of being around Detroit, and why so many people in the suburbs are afraid to walk around Detroit.

I also wonder if they realize the beauty they are missing by not going to Belle Isle.
I have to be honest for one minute. Up until now I myself have never been to Belle Isle. Only because I never new how to get there. I was never taken there as a kid.

A friend of mine that does photography took me to Belle Isle a few weeks ago, and I was blown away. I never knew they had a fully functional conservatory with the most beautiful flowers. It even has an Orange tree inside.
To be honest we did not do alot of walking around beside the conservatory because it was winter time, and the place was frozen.

The other day when we had the Super Moon. Being a photographer I decided I wanted to go back to Belle Isle To try to get pictures of the awesome moon that we were all hearing about. So I took my oldest daughter with me so she could see Belle Isle with me for the first time.
We had a great time She loved the different type of birds, and squirrels she saw.
As the night went on I told her that she needed to sit down and watch the beauty she was about to see, and I dont think she understood until it happened.

I was talking about the sunset that was happening behind the Ren-Cen. If you have never seen it. Do yourself a favor and go see it. It is truely a beautiful site.

As the night rolled on waiting for the Monster Moon to happen we were able to talk a little, and just spend some time together. It was a great time.

It was wonderful all types of people were out waiting for the awesome Moon to happen, and it was funny once it was spotted the shift of people all went to the other side of the park to get a better view.
No fighting, no yelling, no screaming, and no trouble. Just people wanting to see something they may never get to see again.
It was awesome.....

Now I know you are thinking well its Belle Isle and its just one night. Being a photographer I spend a lot of time walking the streets of Detroit taking pictures of the beautiful city. The only thing that has happened while I was out is I gave a couple homeless people a few bucks. Its a small price concidering how their day has been.
Dont get me wrong. There are a few neighborhoods I would not think about going into, but let me ask. Dont every Big City have the same neighborhoods? I do believe so.

I would just like to say. Dont be afraid of Detroit. It is beautiful, and you need to share it with your family. If we dont support the businesses, the businesses will never come back.

Maternity photo shoot.

This weekend I had my first maternity photo shoot.

I think back at the time when my kids were born.  Those were the happiest days of my life. Now my kids are grown, and my oldest is graduating from school this year

Like most couples that are expecting. They have the look of love on their faces, and also the look of the unknown. Not knowing how the furture will turn out.

Not knowing what the future has in store for them.  None of that matters because the love they have for each other, and the love they have for the baby out weighs all. I refer to the baby as ( Baby ) because they are not sure at this point if they want to know what the sex is. They seem to want to be as surprised as the day they found out they were now three.
Good luck to my 3 new clients. I wish all the luck in the world to you. Family is something this world has moved away from. Our new generation need to relearn the values of family. Mother, Father, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, and cousin. The are all needed to help raise a family.
