Have you ever wanted to walk on water? Have you ever wanted to go someplace that is just peaceful, and life is still.
I had this today.
I went out shooting today with a friend in search of a great sunrise on a beautiful lake only to find that the winter clouds covered the sky.
I got up at 5:30 a.m. so I would not miss the sunrise. When I woke up it was snowing, but that didnt stop me from wanting to go.
After we arrived we both went our seperate ways trying to find the best shooting point just in case the sun poked out. It never did.
I started to wonder out on the frozen lake a few yards at a time looking out over the frozen water, and to the southeast you could see a tug boat heading out over the horizon. A few yards turned into almost a quarter mile of walking on frozen waters.
Stopping for a few moments to take in the surroundings. I realized at that point that I was in a different world.
A world that was so peaceful and quiet. No city noise, no cars honking, and even the snow had stopped. Realizing I had probably walked out a little further then I should have I saw something that caught my eye.
I had made it to the point where the ice was frozen at one time but had broken and refroze. Huge ice shards some up to 3 to 4 inches thick and some longer then a person sticking out of the snow and water.
The site was surreal. Nothing most people have ever seen in a lifetime other than maybe in a book or t.v
Some ad a blue tint, some were clear, and some covered in snow. The site was unreal.
I guess you just never know what your day has in store for you. You wake up thinking you are going to do one thing, then life tells you that you are going to do something else.
In this case it worked out for the better. Yes I could have gotten a beautiful sunrise, but instead I saw and experienced something I may never see or do again.

Hello everyone
This is my first blog. I hope it interests you.
Have you ever wondered how photographers get those great photos?? Some part is luck, some part is talent, but most of it called patience.
Sometimes people are so busy that they dont take the time to stop and take a look around to see what they are missing.
The beauty of the world is everywhere.
Photographers need to train themselves to see the beauty for what it is, and to catch it as it happens. From the sun shinning through the clouds, to the ripple of the water, or even the reflection off of a window.
I do believe if people would take a minute to slow down, put the phones, and computers down they would be able to enjoy more of life.
I understand everyone has to work, they have kids, and a house to take care of, and maybe even two jobs.
Have you ever wanted to just stop for 5 minutes, and have nothing happen around you? Next time you feel that way STOP!! look around and list 10 things that you see. I do believe that you can find some kind of beauty in almost all of them. Find the beauty for what it is, because it is there.
I am a photographer. I also have a full time job, wife, 4 kids, after school activities, over time at work, life issues to deal with. So I know you are thinking easier said then done. Trust me its easier done than said.
If you would like to see some of the photography work I have completed please feel free to stop by the following address and check it out.
I hope you all have a great time while finding your beauty.
